In this episode of Million Dollar Mastermind podcast, Host Larry Weidel is joined by Eric Siu, CEO of Single Grain. They discuss why laziness can sometimes be a good thing, how we can learn from the people around us, and why we should go to the office more, but there are also times when it’s necessary that you don’t.
Key highlights include:
- Bill Gates once said that he wants lazy and smart people working for him because they’re the ones who will find shortcuts and figure things out. Eric agrees but is by no means saying that you shouldn’t work hard, just that you should try to get into a natural flow.
- Eric believes that, for the most part, the vast majority of people are kind. It’s this mindset that’s allowed him to be open to and learn lessons from them. The main thing he’s learned from others is that every personality is different and that all you can do sometimes is put your best foot forward. We’re all human; we’re all going to make mistakes; it’s how you handle those mistakes that count.
- There have been a few moments in Eric’s life that impacted and changed how he views his career. One of them was when he read a book and took it too literally - he even stopped turning up to the office and was down to only one employee. He would have shut the company down but decided to put his best foot forward and rectify his mistakes.
