If you’re not reading books as a business person, we have only one question for you: why? You can learn a great deal of invaluable information and wisdom from business books.
If you want to be the best, you need to have the best team who are motivated and empowered to do their best. And if you want to build anything special, you will have to go through an almost obsessional phase of wanting to get it right; you have to do unreasonable things to get unreasonable results, and a good leader is someone who can get others on board with that.
In 2012, Eric worked at Treehouse Island where the CEO threatened to fire him in the first month if he didn’t get results. This could have scared him (and perhaps to some extent it did), but instead of living in fear, he went online and got those results and more. Within eight months, he left to buy Single Grain.
