In this episode of Million Dollar Mastermind podcast, Host Larry Weidel is joined by Jonathan DeYoe, Senior Vice President of EP Wealth Advisors. They delve into why you need to remain resilient; what the tragic passing of his brother taught him; and his unique point of view on the financial industry that not a lot of people have.
Key highlights include:
- When building your business, you have to keep moving forward and remain resilient. Don’t stew over questions of what went wrong or what happened because, at the end of the day, it doesn’t really matter. What’s done is done, you have to learn from it and move on to the next thing.
- Jonathan says that he never slowed the growth of his company down, but he does admit that he became complacent, which is what led him to look for executive help. He turned to his brother, and together they decided to go into business together. Unfortunately, in 2021, his brother passed away which led him to merge his company. It was a difficult period, but it meant he had to bravely keep moving forward.
- Jonathan believes in something that a lot of people in the financial industry don’t: he has no value in investment selection. He manages people rather than investments, and once you learn to do that, then you will succeed. You can’t predict the future, especially not in our economic climate, so trying to manage investments will lead you nowhere; it could all come tumbling down at any point.
