- Sometimes we have to face some hard truths, one of them being that there is no guarantee that any one person is going to motivate us. There is no use waiting for an external voice to push us to be our best, rather we should focus on self-motivation. If you can motivate yourself and focus all of your energy into what it is you want, then you’ll never feel the need to rely on anyone else.
- Management is about more than just managing your team, it’s about managing your goals, your expectations, and how you approach problems. Despite not being in a managerial position at the beginning of his career at Deloitte, the job still allowed him to think about things in different ways, which would be a mindset that would hugely impact his ability as a leader in the future.
- No matter where you are in your career, make sure to manage your expectations, because not only will it make your life easier, it will make the lives of the people you’re working with easier, especially if you’re in a leadership role. We don’t always know the career we’re going to go down, but it’s best to be in control of your emotions and expectations to make the journey easier.
