Mike says that pitching his online shop years ago was a lot easier then than it is now, due in part to everyone shifting to Amazon and other ecommerce platforms. But at the time, anyone who wanted to set up an online store was at a huge advantage. Their pitch to other companies was ‘you need this, and if you don’t invest then your company is going to fall behind.’
You need to make sure you have the right partners for your company. Are they pulling their weight? Are they going to provide enough insight? Each partner needs to have their own speciality and be committed to the business just as much as you are, as well as being able to operate as a team. You also need to know your own strengths and weaknesses so you can surround yourself with people who compliment them.
