True Listener Tales #43: The Bathroom Mirror Face, The Black-Eyed Girlfriend And The Glitch-Walking Demon

The girls aren’t the only ones with terrifying tales. Everyone’s got something to say on this True Listener Tales edition #43, as the listeners say, “Hey, here’s the most traumatic thing that ever happened to me”. This round starts with a fake dead mom prank. Caveat: that’s not a prank, that’s psychological warfare. Then we get a Ouija board sleepover, a ghost named Rasha, a bathroom mirror, vomiting and a smiling figure in the hallway. From there, the stories keep escalating because apparently everybody decided to submit from the devil’s group chat. We get a grandfather’s final goodbye, a ghost light being hurled across a theater, Sergio praying over Jane and getting grabbed by something with inhuman strength, Bala speaking in his dead uncle’s voice at a funeral, a Tombstone tipping table with attitude, demonic grandparents eating some bloody red thing, Maeve’s glitch-walking shadow creature, and Anthony’s near-death experience after being hit by a car. Not sure this is the kind of “list is endless” moment we want but it’s what we’ve got. Heebie-jeebies maxxing, anyone?

This week on Another Fucking Horror Podcast, Monique and Amy are back with True Listener Tales #43, aka everyone’s reminder that real people are out here living through things that would make us simply pass away.

First up, we have a sibling “prank” where a brother convinces his younger sister that he killed their mom. Not cute. Not funny. That is villain origin story behavior.

Then we get into Christie’s Ouija board sleepover, where a ghost named Rasha shows up, Christie gets a violent headache, runs to the bathroom to throw up, looks in the mirror and sees a smiling figure behind her in the hallway.

But that’s only the beginning.

There’s Vinesh hearing his grandfather call to him right before learning he died.

Then a theater ghost that apparently hates ghost lights and possibly Peter Pan.

Then Sergio, praying over his girlfriend Jane before her hand shoots up, grips his wrist with inhuman strength, her eyes go fully black and something says she belongs to it.

Then Bala speaking in his dead uncle’s voice at a funeral.

Then a Tombstone tipping table that rejects both Marcy and a crucifix.

Then grandparents who are very much not giving cute grandparent ghosts.

Then Maeve’s two-dimensional shadow demon that glitch-walks toward her bed.

And, finally, Anthony McNamee’s near-death experience, which ends with him back in his body and later watching a glass shoot across the room.
