Burnout at Nonprofits with Susan Kenny of UPLIFT Yoga Foundation
June 13, 2023
Welcome to the first-ever episode of the Nonprofit Connect podcast, brought to you by Rogue Creatives, made to connect with and learn from people in the nonprofit hemisphere. I’m your host, Matt Barnes, and you’re in for an absolutely awesome episode (if I do say so myself).
In this episode, we speak with the wonderful Susan Kenny, CEO of UPLIFT Yoga Foundation, to discuss some of the perils of funding, how to recognize signs of burnout (and how to tackle it), as well as how UPLIFT is helping manage mental wellness for teens.
Our guest today is
Susan Kenny, CEO of
UPLIFT Yoga Foundation, a nonprofit that focuses on the mental wellness of teenagers. Susan describes herself as a “Do Gooder” looking to change the world positively. She’s a professional fundraiser, a compassionate communicator, and connects with positive changemakers. Having spent over 20 years in the nonprofit space, raising funds and working with nonprofits like the Ronald McDonald House, Muscular Dystrophy Association, and Do GOODer Partners, we can’t wait for you to hear what she has to say.
So sit back, relax, and listen to us cover such topics as:
- Why nonprofits have a scarcity mindset
- The challenges that surround fundraising
- Recognizing signs of burnout in the nonprofit space and how to tackle it
- Helping teens manage their mental wellbeing
