A former member of the USA Gymnastics national team, Nina began her career as a news anchor at WCIV, Charleston's ABC affiliate, where she earned an Emmy Award for Best News Anchor in the Southeast and was named Charleston’s favorite news anchor for four consecutive years by The City Paper. In 2007, Nina transitioned from TV to tech, joining the leadership team at Benefitfocus, where she helped lead the company through its hyper-growth and played a key role in their 2013 IPO listed in Forbes' top 10 IPOs of the year.
Nina is also a published author with two books focused on resilience. Her first book, THIS is Not The End: Strategies to Get You Through the Worst Chapters of Your Life, offers guidance on overcoming adversity. Her second book, But I Want Both: A Working Mom's Guide to Creating a Life She Loves, was written in 2020 during the pandemic to support working mothers in balancing career and family. Nina also sits on several non-profit boards and is an Executive Advisor with the Alzheimer’s Association.
