How Property Managers Can Eliminate Software Workarounds and Optimize Streamline PMS
October 22, 2026
Scott Klein and Shep Love of Prezent join Lynell Gordon on The Vacation Rental Show to explain why vacation rental businesses often struggle with technology implementation rather than a lack of software. With over nine years of Streamline experience, more than 50 new-market launches, and 100-plus onsite evaluations, Scott shares how disconnected departments, inefficient workflows, and underused software features can create unnecessary operational problems. Shep brings a different perspective, focusing on communication, trust, and team alignment. Together, they discuss why operators should understand their existing systems before investing in new tools, how small daily checks can prevent larger problems, and why strong leadership and employee development are essential to improving business performance.

Scott Klein and Shep Love believe vacation rental businesses often have the technology they need but aren't using it to its full potential. In this episode, they join Lynell Gordon to discuss why buying another software solution won't necessarily fix inefficient processes or disconnected teams. Drawing on more than 100 onsite evaluations, Scott explains how problems in reservations, housekeeping, and maintenance can create downstream issues for accounting and guest operations.

Scott recommends examining how departments work together, identifying unnecessary workarounds, and making better use of existing software. He shares a practical approach to prevention: spending ten minutes each day reviewing arrivals, outstanding balances, guest communications, and housekeeping schedules rather than letting problems accumulate until month-end.

Shep explores the people side of operational performance, including communication, trust, individual strengths, and employee satisfaction. He also discusses his use of numerology as a personal-development framework. Together, Scott and Shep explain why meaningful improvements begin with understanding how employees actually work, creating clarity around leadership goals, and investing in the people responsible for delivering the guest experience.
