Everlutionary: Healing and Transforming the World
E32 - Wellness is a Journey, Not a Destination: Acupuncture, Holistic Health, and Interrogating the Narrative
August 12, 2025
What does it mean to be well, not as a finish line, but as a daily practice? In this soulful episode of “Everlutionary,” our host Hawah Kasat sits down with educator, acupuncturist, healer, non-profit leader, and longtime friend, Chris Pearson to explore wellness as an ongoing process. From stretch marks and scars to the stories our bodies tell, they dive into acupuncture, embodiment, and why words shape the way we heal.
What if the stretch marks on your skin and the scars in your memory weren’t just reminders of pain, but living proof of your ability to heal and your resilience?

In this expansive, important conversation, “Everlutionary” host Hawah Kasat sits with Chris Pearson, an educator, licensed acupuncturist, bodyworker, and founder of Be Well Natural, whose life’s work spans nearly three decades of somatic practice, and community healing.

Together, they explore what it means to view wellness as a lifelong journey, rather than a destination, how language influences our health, and why the stories we tell ourselves matter just as much as the treatments we seek. From the “issues in our tissues” to the deeper truths acupuncture helps unlock, Chris shares how healing is as much about narrative, presence, and perspective as it is about technique. A master orator, he weaves in stories that range from his first bodywork class in 1996 to raising three sons, one with cerebral palsy, and the disciplined work of founding a nonprofit organization that uses basketball and social-emotional learning to teach self-mastery.

This episode is an invitation to rethink what healing really looks like and to see the marks we carry not as flaws, but as evidence of who we’ve become.
